Construction Materials Go to Waste

Today, one of the biggest human problems is global warming due to carbon production. The construction industry is the largest global consumer of resources and raw materials, and it is also extremely wasteful. Millions of tons of construction waste are produced every year. A large amount of this construction waste can be recycled.

Material Reuse and Salvage Assessment Can Reduce GHG

Recycling  and reuse of construction waste represents an unparalleled opportunity to reduce carbon emissions.

Mandatory ’Salvage Assessment’ is being increasingly implemented by municipalities, lack of expert assessment measures, quality control and automation in the process.

Our Mission

Our team is looking for an AI & Machine learning based method to play a role in reducing carbon production. We also try to help construction and demolition companies, contractors and building owners to easily sell or buy the products obtained from the demolition of buildings.

The Loopico team brings expertise in circular economy in construction to improve the construction demolition industry, reducing waste and carbon emissions through state-of-the-art analysis, deconstruction planning, and automation and facilitating secondary material markets.
The Loopico software platform integrates different building analysis tools to develop a comprehensive understanding of the material reuse potential prior to building demolition

Loopico provides a marketplace for buyers and sellers of secondary construction materials to find each other. Through our vendors, buyers and sellers can plan pick up and delivery. Loopico will process the payments once the products are delivered to buyers. Additionally, sellers can store theirmaterials through storage vendors.

Loopico provides an online marketplace for reducing construction industry emissions and waste and enabling contractors to generate additional revenue. Through the platform, reclaimed and overstock materials and hardware can be scanned, tracked, evaluated, and sold. Loopico will provide an on-site scanning solution in addition to survey and evaluation tools for construction consultants and architects to evaluate all elements. Loopico will focus initially to directly manage separation, reclamation, storage, and sales of few key materials and elements such as timber, brick, etc.

  • Recommendations on how to dismantle and process elements for the highest value retention and carbon capture
  • Optimized plan for deconstruction, including a list of materials and quantities for reuse and recycling
  • Identify onsite reuse and/or match building with new development

Through the deconstruction phase, there are various documents that are generated. Laser scanning, photogrammetry, image processing data, object detection data, building design files, and material data base are all information that will be collected in a project. Loopico will collect, store, and provide the data to stakeholders of each project.

Increase building material loops, generating new revenue streams and significantly lower GHG emissions in the construction industry.

LEED

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a globally recognized certification system developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) to promote sustainable building practices. LEED provides a framework for designing, constructing, and operating buildings that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient. It evaluates buildings based on factors like energy efficiency, water usage, indoor environmental quality, use of sustainable materials, and overall environmental impact.

There are various levels of LEED certification—Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum—each representing a higher level of achievement in sustainability. LEED certification is commonly pursued in the construction industry to meet sustainability goals, attract eco-conscious clients, and potentially qualify for government incentives.

By incorporating LEED into the Loopico software, we can increase its performance while promoting sustainable construction practices. Incorporating LEED principles not only helps users achieve certification but also contributes to environmental goals by minimizing waste and reducing carbon emissions in the construction industry.
